Can't active Real Time scanning

Sorry - I posted this earlier, but I think it entered it in
the wrong place.

I can't activate Real Time scanning. I followed the advise
of earlier posts and tried "Options" and "Settings", but
the box was checked for real time activation. I right
clicked the icon in my system tray and chose Security Agent
(disabled) and then clicked on activate, but nothing
happened. Next, I updated the software. Finally I
followed the advise to enter the command regsvr32
msvbvm60.dll - however I still can't activate real time
protection. I just downloaded this software today so I
know it is current. Even after my first scan deleted all
kinds of spyware - they are still popping up as I surf. I
will be grateful for any help. Thank you!!

Try an update install to see if this fixes the issue:
control panel, add or remove programs, Microsoft
Antispyware, change, update

I've experienced this same problem. However, my computer
was already infected with Spyware before I installed
Microsoft Antispyware ... and the Spyware I have appears
to be Aurora which is new and notoriously difficult to
remove. I'm wondering whether this is actually somehow
blocking me from switching on Real Time Protection.

Any comments?
