Can't access folders

Hi. We are slowly migrating off Novell [ya!]. Various clients [XP SP2] have
the Novell client installed but are also part of the domain. User [I'll call
her Christine] has access to various folders on a Server 2003 server, yet she
doesn't see all or can't access them completely. If I map to
\\server\accounting and apply her credentials on the Windows domain through
"log in as", either it doesn't give all of her access or it complains about
another mapping conflicting.

Ideas?

PS - I have verified that she has the correct permissions on the server.

Gis,

I am not familar with Novell, but I know we have run into issues where a
drive will be mapped and a customer will try to map to a similar location of
the same mapped drive.

Have you checked Tools > Disconnect network drives to see if
\\server\accounting is showing up already mapped at another location and
simply not assigned a drive letter? This is one we see often. I have worked
with customers where a folder will be mapped without a drive letter and they
are trying to map the same location with a drive letter which displays the
error about already being mapped.

Something to check anyway....

Yup. What I was trying to map was the sole mapping to \\server\accounting .
"Christine" had another mapping to \\server\scripts but she has no problem
with that one as the security is wide open for that [not critical] but
accounting is critical.

Does it work to simply map to \\server and then select the folder from there?
I am guessing that \\server is the same server in both \scripts and
\accounting. If so, then that would explain the error for the drive already
being mapped. If the server allows mapping to \\server and then selecting
the folder, I would try that to see if it works.

Connecting just to \\server didn't help.

I removed the Windows server shares, tried to map to \\server\accounting but
failed. I could still map to \\server\scripts.

As we are migrating off Novell [Bill will be happy], finding a solution may
not be too critical.

Thanks
