Share access

I have an XP user that is prompt for credentials when she tries to access
shares on one of our server. No other server prompts her. She can logon to
another machine and has no problems. I can logon to her machine and not have
any problems. It seems to be something with her profile. I hate to delete
her whole profile. Has anyone else run into this?

Are you operating in a domain environment (with centralised
authoentication) or do you have a number of independent
stand-alone servers? If it is the latter, did you make sure to
synchronise her account / password on all servers?

Sorry I forgot to throw that in there. We are running a 2003 AD domain. So
yes we are centralized.

Perhaps your problem user getting validated locally rather than
on the domain. Did you pay attention to the domain name field
on her logon screen?

If you suspect that her profile is at fault then you should test
your theory:
1. Reboot the machine.
2. Log on as yourself.
3. Rename her profile folder in c:\Documents and Settings.
4. Log on as her. Does this solve the problem?

To restore her original profile, run Steps 1 and 2 above,
then delete her new profile folder and reverse the previous
renaming.
