can access newsgroups on microsoft.private.security via OE ?

Yo Mama

Your current website for this "beta" (see home page)
provides links for information for using OE to view the
newsgroups. But the links lead to a broad overview with
NO specific information on setting up an account in OE.

I use OE every day to monitor other MS newsgroups of a
technical nature. Setting up an account in OE on the
microsoft.private.security server fails to connect to the
server, so perhaps a login is required ?

How about getting your act together and making the link
that you say will give you information about using OE do
what it says it will do.

In build .509 of Microsoft Antispyware, go to Help

Click on the middle of the three choices: "support newsgroups on the web."

In the top pane, scroll down. You will find this information, among other:

Viewing these Newsgroups with an NNTP Newsreader

Since these are private newsgroups, your server will require you to logon using the following information:

a.. Server: privatenews.microsoft.com
b.. Account name: privatenews\spyware
c.. Password: spyware
d.. Note that the password is case-sensitive.
