C00000BE, Unable to change password.

We have a w2k server network with 3 sites, using 1 domain.
At these sites are legacy clients, like w98 and NT4WS.
All clients and server do have the latest servicepacks,
updates etc. etc. and the DSClient installed.
But when a legacy client tries to change his password at
a site that's not the pdc-emulator site, he gets the
error like the subject'Unable to change password....
C00000BE'
When using a lmhost file with Pre Dom , he can change his
password but then his logon attempt is redirected to de
PDC-Emulator site.
It seems that WINS is OK, DNS has it's SRV record to the
PDC emulator, Anomynous logon is available, AD
synchronisation is OK.

This can occur if restrictanonymous is too restrictive. I know that you
mentioned that anonymous logon is available but any changes to the
restrictanonymous do not go into effect until the DC is rebooted. You may
want to reboot the PDC emulator just to verify that this is not the case.

Tim,
At first, thanks for your reply.

Don't know exactly what you meant with 'too restrictive',
I set it to '0', And indeed I rebooted the pdc-emulator.
I also checked what is written in MS KB176978 although it
isn't exactly my problem.
What I've found in JSI-FAQ Nr.0898,is that the client
also must have the RestrictAnonymous set to '0'.
I will try that tomorrow, but do you have any experience
with this 0898 ??
Kind Regards
