burning picture files to cd's

Hello everyone i have been haveing a problem lately i have gone threw all
my computer and help site trying to find out if i have the capabilities on
my dell windows xp to burn my pic files i have followed, my tecks advice but
still my computer gets me all the way to the end and than will not download
to the cd? i even asked a friend who does this all the time to help me and i
followed everthing he and windows said to do but no luck? I checked my
driver on my media player but it says its not enabled on my cd-rom but that i
have it on a d drive? can anyone help me if so i would be very happy,
thankyou so much , i also have made sure i have the right cds also when i
put in to download my computer says i dont have a cd in it to do? i must be
doing something wrong. this is a gift from my son and i know that it must be
able to do this!

Part of the answer is in your post. Yes you see it as a D drive, but this
does not mean you can use XP to burn to CD. You need to Enable it to do so.
Open My Computer and right click on the CD drive listed there as a D drive.
Click on Properties and in the opening window click on the Recording tab.
Then check the box "Enable...."
Then open the photo folder, select the pictures you want to copy, look at
the menu on the left, under Picture tasks and click on the last one, Copy
the selected items to CD.
Then just follow the directions on your screen.
