Cannot burn my pictures to a CD

I have tried to burn my pics from my camera to a cd, but after i have
selected the files I want and select write to cd, my computer keeps on asking
me to insert a blank cd.
I does not recognise that a blank cd has been inserted.
I have no problems burning a music cd via Media Player.
Any help would be much appreciated.

I have the same problem. I had to use Nero Express and burn as data. If you
have Nero 7 as I do then Nero installs software that I have been told
conflicts with the Roxio software windows uses.
The only way to burn your pics to cd as mentioned was to either uninstall
Nero or use Nero Express.
