burning photos to a CD

I just hooked up a CD/DVD drive to my computer thru a USB port because my
computer's built-in CD drive doesn't burn correctly. I've already used the
new drive to burn music to CDs, so I know it works with my computer and I
managed to switch the drive preferences in Windows Media Player... but when I
try to burn photos, it wants me to use the built-in CD drive, it doesn't
acknowledge the new drive even if I disable the built-in one. How do I switch
it over to burning photos with my new drive?

Thanks...

Hi Deandra,

What are you using to try to burn the photos to CD? If you're using a 3rd
party program, you'll need to refer to their documentation. Most of the
time, you can just pick the drive you want to write to. If you're just
using Windows Explorer, I assume you're clicking "Copy to CD" (if not,
please let me know how you're going about this).

Instead of "Copy to CD", right-click and click Send To and pick the correct
drive. You can find more information in the article
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;279157.

Let us know how that goes.

Thanks,
