Brother MFC-3240C not printer black.

I Have Brother MFC-3240C multi-function printer (Printer, Copier, Fa
and Scanner). The printer will not print or copy BLACK. The colo
works without error. I have replace the cartridge twice with Brothe
manufacture ink cartridge, LC41BK. I have run hot water on the firs
cartridge as advised by the vendor, no change. I NEE
HELP/DIRECTION

I am really amazed that the cartridge vendor (doesn't matter whether it's a
genuine Brother cartridge or not) would advise that you run it under hot water.
The cartridge is an ink container only, it does not contain a printhead so
warming it can do no good; also they should stand by their product, if they
think the cartridge is at fault they should do whatever is necessary to correct
the problem.
Unfortunately unless you have been sold 2 defective cartridges (ink containers
almost never fail) you probably have a failed printhead. Is the MFC under
warranty? If so I suggest you get it checked out by the supplier.
