Blank Video

I cannot view any video clips with any player. I do get audio. I get a
black screen where the video should be playing. I have yet to see a
sufficient answer for this problem.

It is more than likely that the video you are trying to view conatins a codec
not certified by M$ and so you would not be able to download it by the above
method. Whilst there are probabbly hundreds of different codecs out there the
most common are XVID and DIVX. Just search the web for those keynames, should
be easy to find. Idealy you should enquire at the source as to what codec was
used.

Try ffdshow from http://sourceforge.net/projects/ffdshow/, this may not be
approved by MS but if you want to see the clip then use it at your
discretion. ffdshow is shareware
