Autoplay

I have a CD-RW which contains the files from my old computer. When I put the
disc in my DVD-R/RW drive the computer attempts to "autoplay" one of the
programs unsuccessfully. The autoplay box appears on my monitor, but stays
there in endless eternity. When I press Ctrl/Alt/Delete and click on "end
task" to stop the autoplay, Windows gets shut down and I am really stuck with
a totally blank screen.

Would anyone be able to tell me how to "disable" autoplay, so that I can
view the files on the CD without playing anything. By the way, I have
already done this:
Opened "My Computer"
right clicked the device
clicked on Properties
clicked the Autoplay tab
selected "Prompt me each time to choose an action" for each of the content
types

After doing that, I still have the problem. Any suggestions?

Download and install TweakUI from Microsoft.

To turn off autoplay:

Open TweakUI then navigate to:

My Desktop > Autoplay > Drives

Uncheck the CD drive you wish to have autoplay disabled.
