Automatic pause points on video

Is it possible to have a video begin playing, then pause at certain
points - with the user resuming playback with the mouse/keyboard?

So the video pauses automatically
and the user sets it running again when ready?

This is not native, but could be done with video editing software and
inserting segments that advance and play sequentially on mouse click.

Yeah, you can do this in PPT 2002 and 2003.

Insert the video onto the slide (Insert/movies and sounds/movie from file).
Say yes to play automatically.

Right-click the video, choose custom animation. Add Effect/Movie
Actions/Pause. Set the pause to start "with previous." Right-click the pause
and choose Show Advanced Timeline. Drag the orange pause action thingy to
the appropriate place for the pause.

That pauses the movie, and because a trigger was applied automatically when
you opted to play the video automatically, you don't have to add it to
unpause the movie.

And crud. Now that I go back to test this again, it's not working. Grrrr!
Maybe that will give you some ideas, anyway. It may be possible to make that
work if you fiddle with it.
