Attachment's file extension

The file extension is automatically omitted when I try to save it. I am
using the Outlook 2007 as the email client for Exchange Server 2003.
When I click on an attachment named ABC.PDF, and click Save As. The File
Name under the Save Attachment dialog box is showing ABC. I can manaully add
the .pdf at the end of the file name but I like to find out what causes the
extension disappear??
I noticed this behavious last week. I had been working fine before.
Thanks for you input...

Showing file extensions is a Windows option and not an Outlook options.

Robert,

I can view the file extension in Explorer without any problem. I am
referring to the "Save Attachment" dialog box when I am saving an attachment.

Raymond,

I am having the exact same problem and I do not know how to fix that either.
If I do not add the extenstion to the end of the file name when saving it
will be an unknown file (no extension). I will continue to investigate this
but I am hoping someone else has the solution.
