Any freeware app to re-format an ntfs partion to fat32, form a bootable floppy?

Why do people write "anal" when they probably
mean "asinine" (utterly stupid or silly)?

Probably because they mean anal. Why do people (okay, you, not
people) think that they know what someone else is thinking better than
the person thinking it? And why do you pretend to know anything - you
obviously don't.

Yeah, right, you top-posted, so now your "reply" is above the
other TWO, making it so much "easier" to follow things.

You're just jealous. Come on, admit it.

(Don't despair. Not everyone can be backward.)

Yes. Top-posting is the default setting with MS OE or Outlook Office.

I don't see that as a problem - 40tude Dialog defaults to bottom
posting but if I want to top-post I can. Just as people using Outlook
Express can bottom-post if wanted.

John.

I disagree. Top posters rarely have anything worthwhile to say. 90% are
"Me
Too" posts.

Generalizing about ANY group of people is ridiculous. It's where racism and
sexism comes from, and while those are REAL problems this whole fuss about
where one posts is so childish as to be unbelievable.

To automatically killfile top posters and claim what they say is worthless
is rather...insane.

C

cory

I never said I kill filed them.

I was speaking in general, not specifically about you. Apologies for
piggybacking off your words.

And 'insane' was too harsh. I simply find it absurd.

Yes. If the players of the Football WM would think so, they would not
be able to get the Ball into the Goal ;-). (e.g. left or right foot)
The percentage with this WM played by left is over 50% :)

It's probably the same :)

Top posters want to stick out and their bottom killfilers or reminders
stick out as well. Beating a bad with bad makes you not good or better
;)

Probably started with email replies ? The original emailer would know
what he said in an earlier message to a known person.
However, with newsgroups, a post may contain parts of many individual
statements and veer off in many new directions.
Plus, there is often a time-lag in newsgroups when posts may be delayed
for some time on the many independent providers out there.

I think middle-posters should leave a blank line above and below thier
insertions to separate it from the surrounding quotes which it refers to.
For clarity.

This issue comes up often in most newsgroups. Top-posting
is definitely better in certain situations.

Top Posting and Bottom Posting have become religions in their own
right. Let the jihad begin!

A: Because it destroys the logical flow of a thread of comments.

Q: Why do so many people object to top posting?

*********** REPLY SEPARATOR ***********

Caesar fails to note that the logical flow is not within the post, but
rather from the subject line to the body of the post. Ergo, top
posting does indeed maintain logical flow. That stuff below the top
post is there for reference if you need it.

So why did I do this wrong? I have no idea.

Excellent reply

I eat my peas with honey.
I've done it all my life.
It makes the peas taste funny.
But it keeps them on my knife.

In business you quite often want all previous text left intact (no
trimming). I get a lot of emails that have gone from one person to
another before they get to me, and I want to see why someone said
something, based on the email he got, and why that email said what it
said, etc.

Many times all I need is the part addressed to me (the top part). If
I need more I can scroll down, if I don't I don't have to scroll.

Totally different than Usenet posts where, if it's done properly, the
entire text in a single post is relevant.
