Another SERVICES question:Please Help?

P

Pedro Sanchez

First off, I am using WINXP SP2
I disabled these services and the comp seems to be working fine [right
now]. I wanted to know if these services were ok to disable.

If you see one that should _not_ have been disabled please tell my why
and I'll enable it again.
Here is the list of services I disabled

IPSEC
MS Software Shadow Copy Provider
NetMeeting Remote Desktop Sharing
Network DDE
Network DDE DSDM
Performance Logs and Alerts
QoS RSVP
Remote Desktop Help Session Manager
Removable Storage
Secondary Logon
Security Accounts Manager
Smart Card
System Restore Service
Terminal Services
WebClient

Thank you,
Pedro

You should not disable any of the system services unless one or more are
causing a specific problem for your computer. Disabling services under other
circumstances accomplishes nothing of value and leads to trouble in the
future.

I agree with Ted. You place your computer at risk if not knowledgeable
about service functions - for example what is the reason for disabling
"system restore"?

Pedro - what is it? - why are you messing with the machine - you ignored
Ted's advice in a previous post, and probably also my previous post.

No I didn't ignore anyone. I didn't check for replies to my posts for
several hours AND I'm not perfect.
