advice on a program --- Microsoft Photo Editor

hi i had a computer with windows 98
i just bought a new com with xp home on it and 64-3400 processor i realy want to have Microsoft photo editor but cant see anywhere to get it and i have tryed the computer shop where i had the com made but they say they cant get it
the old version on the 98 was 3.0.2.3 if any help - i have tryed copping it over also but it works only wont let me save my photoes when i go to save them it just closes dow
i know there are other free ones out there but i would realy like to have that on the computer can any one tell me where i can get hold of it thanks j

Did Photo Editor come with a version of MS Office? If so, do you still have
the MS Office CD? If so, you could probably re-install Photo Editor from
your old Office CD.

Also, here is a KB article about using Photo Editor 3.0.23 with Windows XP
and manually setting the appropriate application permissions.

I know it's not much help, but it's all I can come up with.

If you don't have Office for Photo Editor, download the free IfanView,
one of the better photo editors, especially considering
price/performance. It might be more than you want/need, but it is free.
