Adding a Contact field in Journal folder view

Hi,
I have a contact with a value in Customer ID.
I then created a journal item by dragging the contact item
into the journal folder. Now in the journal folder, I added
the contact's Customer ID as one of the view field. The
Customer ID field was added to the journal folder view but the value is
blank. Has anyone done a similar thing that works?

Any reply is much appreciated.

Outlook folders show only data in the folder. The Customer ID information
resides in the Contacts folder. It does not reside in the journal item.
Therefore, you can't see it in the Journal folder, even though Outlook lets
you drag a contact field to the journal folder view.

Confusing, yes?

What you describe can be done, but it requires a custom form, VBA code or a
COM addin.
