Add/Remove Programs

I have installed a USR V.92 Fax Modem. I have had
trouble getting the internet on hold feature to work. I
have been instructed by USR to completely uninstall the
modem and the programs. In Device Manager under Hardware
it lists the modem as US Robotics V.92 and I am able to
remove the modem from the hardware listing. In
Add/Remove Programs it lists the program as US Robotics
V.92 but when I click Remove Program, Windows says that
that device is not installed. I have tried to remove the
program first then the modem and I have tried to remove
the modem first then the program. No difference. I have
tried in Safe Mode also. I have tried moving the modem
to a different slot and let the system reinstall and then
try to remove. No luck. The modem works and the call
notification works but will not put the internet on
hold. My ISP supports internet on hold.

Any ideas?

How does USR tech support feel about reinstalling that software over
itself in the hopes of getting it "in" all of the way or at least "in"
far enough so that you can accomplish a proper uninstall?
