Acer AL1715

Hi,

A newbie question probably, but how can you avoid the constantly
autoconfig-function of an Acer AL1715 monitor? Can't you just save the
settings? Now I always have to wait until my system had booted
completely, and then push that "auto" button once. Once that is done,
it is ok. But I would prefer to avoid that.

Thank you in advance.

At least two posibilities come to mind:

1. Monitor has a bug - a typical monitor should only go through
"auto" once for every new pixel format detected - but maybe there is
a setting in OSD to force it to do "auto" more often. More than likely
it's not remembering previous modes.

2. Maybe your video is a "non-standard" format or refresh? If so,
that might be forcing the "auto" action more often. Not typical, though.

Have to say I never encountered a monitor that would do "auto" by
itself at every boot-up. Doesn't mean they don't exist, but makes me
wonder...

If you haven't already try installing the Driver that came with the
monitor.Also available on Acer's site.
