Access password protected profile on old drive

Hi all;
My motherboard crashed and it was better to get a new computer. I've taken
my old HD and turned it into an extrenal HD so that I can transfer my old
files. But when I go to get into my profile I can't get access. I think it
is because I had it password protected. But I can get into the other user
profiles no problem. Am I right? And, if I am, how do I get into it?
Thanks for the help.

It's a matter of file and folder permissions.
It can be because they were marked "private" - or just because that is the
way the file and permissions were allowed to properly be set.

Important information was left out.
You are getting a message aren't you?
Would it be "access denied"?

A google search for the exact "error" message and the operating system in
