Access Denied when installing SP2 on XP Pro: 1st part of log poste

I working on a PC w/o SP2 installed. I tried installing it three times but
get the message "Access Denied" in the middle of install and then everything
gets backed out. I found the log it created which is pasted below:
I read other postings and went to this site for info, but it did not help.

The log was too large to insertso I uploaded it to my site for ease of
downloading. It can be found here:

Please let me know what can be done to resolve this Access Denied problem.

Log indicates that a registry change is not being allowed.
Do you have any software on the machine that protects the registry?
Have you tried configuring msconfig to temporarily turn off all startup programs and services?

Thanks for the quick reply. i wil go into msconfig this evening and trurn off
all startup programs and rerun the install.

I'll post the outcome tomorrow.

Using SubInACL to fix the change the registry permissions is the best
