a pop-up window was blocked!!! WHY???

When I try to see some hyperlinks on my home computer that
open a new window IE show an error message in the status
bar like this:
"A pop-up window was blocked".
However for example at my office I can access such
hyperlinks without error.
What's the reason and how can I resolve the problem?

have you got a yahoo or google bar on your internet explorer windows?

if so go to their options and enable pop ups.

In addition to certain Pop-up blockers which do a poor job distinguishing
"good" pop-ups from undesirable ones, some Pop-ups (as well as java enabled
buttons and links) are also affected by having Active Scripting disabled.
