I'm asking for the third time in as many days. Please help me out. I do
not wish to seem impatient, but my customer is complaining about this
problem endlessly.

I'm having a problem with a client's PC. No tasks scheduled will start.
Any attempts to start, either timed or manually, result in " 0x8007007a: The
data area passed to a system call is too small."

A KB search returns Q264522, which I have tried with no success, and
Q246865, which mentions installing IE 5.01. However, XP has IE6 installed,
and I've even reinstalled 6 in an attempt to correct this.

Another article, Q294272, mentions problems when the administrator account
belongs to many groups, but this also does not apply, since no changes have
been made to the group memberships since the original installation.

The account does have a password.

What else could be causing this behavior?

Just a suggestion - Log on to each account, remove all scheduled tasks.
After clearing all, Open Scheduler, Disable with "Stop using Task
Scheduler". Remove the Scheduler log from the Windows folder (note
the size of the file). Reboot the PC, Check the System Event log for
errors. Open Scheduler - Run the Wizard, add a simple single run type
of Scheduled event, from Properties choose Run Now. Immediately,
afterwards go to C:\Windows and scan the Scheduler log for errors.

I had the same problem and just fixed it. Go into C:/Windows/Tasks and
delete any entries that may be in there. Don't delete the top icon
that allows you to schedule a new task. Then go directly to the
program and attempt to schedule a task. I had the problem with Norton,
Spysweeper, etc and now they all work fine. Good luck.
