This error occured when I tried to install windows Vista, is there any advice
on what to do. I've tried to remove any external objects but the error still
occurs.

Now that I've gone through the messages again, I understand this error comes
very early in the boot?

It would be best if you detailed every piece of hardware you have exactly.
This can be done easiest by getting this program "PCI" or "PCI32"

You also need to copy this file:

To the same location as you have the PCI.exe or PCI32.exe. It has updated
device definitions.

If you still have installer or can install XP on the computer, run the
PCI32.exe like this:
PCI32.exe > devices.txt

now open devices.txt with notepad and copy paste the content here in your
reply.

If you don't have and can't get XP back there, get the DOS version on a disk
or bootable USB stick that uses DOS. Then do PCI.EXE > devices.txt and open
this file where you have Internet access.


You can also try enabling boot logging from the boot menu advanced options
and this would yield a net*.log in root of that drive.

If possible, I also recommend installing the Beta Client on that computer
and submitting a bug including the boot log if you got such made.

Some are getting this from a bad burn of the iso or a corrupt downloaded iso
image.

I have the exact same problem. I redownloaded and re burned it and it will
not boot still. I have a amd 64 3200, 1.5gb ram, geforce6600. I tried
unplugging everything, inclucing my video card and sound card and all usb
drives. Nothing works. I need help.

From what I'm seeing there are many different file sizes being
listed for
the Vista RC1 image and many problems installing from the DVD. The correct
size for the downloaded image for RC1 5600 x86 is 2,646,272KB and RC1 x64 is
3,765,476KB. To verify that the download is correct the Signatures of the
ISO files are:

Hi,
i had the same message "problem with device connected.. status: 0xC00000e9"
- the 32 bit program could not be installed on different computers. I checked
the downloadsize and found out, the size was only 2.582.864 KB instead of
2.646.272 KB.
I will try to download again.

I have the same problems,but I think that it isn't can't be solved by
redownloading. I've downloaded and burned ISO image and iI used this DVD to
install Vista on my notebook, but later I tried to Install on my desktop
machine and recived 0xc00000e9
