zone alarms

i share a broadband connection with my hubbys computer, he has zone
alarm on his, but this has to be disabled each time i need to access
the web from my computer.... any ideas on what to use ?
i use avg on my pc to protect from virus etc

How are you sharing the broadband - through a router or direct from hubby's
PC via Internet Connetion Sharing? If the latter, you probably just need to
set Zone Alarm on his machine to let you through. Watch what program ZA
says it's blocking, set that as allowed. ZA might have to allow ICS on
hubby's to be a server on local network.

The free version of Zone Alarm does not support ICS.

That's a bummer, didn't know that. Added reason to use a good router -
plus the hardware firewall that brings additional protection.
