ZONE ALARM affects my online gaming

HI!
I enjoy plaing online games but since I instaled Zone Alarm Pro 4.5 there is
something wrong wth the connection(?) I can still connect to remote servers
and play but I keep experiencing kind of persistent time lag (frame
freezing). Once I shut down ZA everything comes back to normal.
Can anybody help?
