Zipped files on server show different contents depending on workstation

A client of mine has a Windows 2000 server SP4 with XP workstations. The client maintains
folders on the server which are zipped on occasion. When viewing the contents of a given zipped file
some workstations cannot see the entire contents, but the properties of the zipped file show the
same size and date information no matter which workstation is viewing them. In addition, if the file
is unzipped from a workstation which can not view the entire contents, the unzipped folder will not
contain the files which can not be viewed from that workstation.

As far as I can tell, there is no difference in the rights or permissions to the files from various
users and computers.

I'm stumped. Any suggestions on solving this mystery are appreciated.

What I would do is ask the client to make a zip of one file then see if all
the client computers can see the zip with the contents. The move up from
there adding addtional files to the zip that are causing the issue. Some
files can be hidden if they are system files or extensions may not show.
This depends on the Folder Settings... in Tools off Windows Explorer. Also
check that the zip in question has the same size after each client computer
transfers the zip from the server.
