Zip File Association Lost - Help!

T

TheScullster

Hi all

I have a user who appears to have semi-lost his file type association for
zip files.
If he receives an email with a zip file attached, it will not open by dbl
click or right click open, but instead launches a search window.
If the file is saved to disk, dbl click launches an explorer search window,
but right click open opens the zip file as you would expect.

Checking the properties of a random zip file shows that the "opens with"
association is to Windows Explorer.
On a trouble-free PC this gives the "opens with" software for zip files as
"Compressed (zipped) Folders".
But attempts to change the association show no option for "Compressed
(zipped) Folders" in the available software list.

Anyone any clues as to how to rectify this please?

TIA

Phil
