Zalman fan-less ZM80 heatsing mounting on Herc 9800 Pro?

Has anyone done this operation?

I used to have close to no fans in my P4 2GHz box (w/ ATI 8500 Pro).
Im especially sensitive *against* graphic-card fans nowadays.
Anyone?

I have, but the catch is that you will likely have to install a slot fan to
tame the beast depending on your power supply voltage (undervoltaged or
overvoltaged on the -5v and -12v lines) and your AGP voltage. 9700/9800
pros generate a *lot* of heat as a 10 layer .15micron pcb design. So you
may be active cooling just a bit if you take a thermal probe and read 120F
or hotter (I use a Radio Shack thermal probe attached to the heatsink as
close to the GPU as I can get it).

The Zalman and the OEM Zalman (PCtoys.com VGA Maxx) that you can buy for
$30.00 at CompUsa work very well on a 9700 or 9800 series card.

If you take your time it should take about 1-2 hours to complete including
installation, cleanup, and test.

Thanks for feedback, Shanec.
I apprecicate it. Just happened to lurk Zalman's website and the seem to
have a new solution/version with the "ZM80" heatsink with a quiet fan in
the pipeline. I'll hold off a bit, and see what they propose with it.
