ZA ver 6.1.737 & Wireless Problems

Hi,

I've recently had some drop outs on my wireless card (Netgear WR614
Router and WR511 card).

I installed the new Zone Alarm v6.1.737 about 3 weeks ago and did not
notice any unusual behavior until the last week or so. For some reason,
I lost my connection on the Laptop (using the Netgear WR511 card) and
checked my desktop only to learn that it too had lost its connection.
The desktop uses a cable connection directly to the router.

I did the usual drill, powered down the router, then the cable modem,
then rebooted, in reverse order. Problem happened two or three times
within a three hour period then went away.

Problem happened again and this time could not get the wireless back at
all. Called Netgear and they had me turn SSID broadcasting ON (I had it
off for over a year w/no probs) but then the wireless worked - so I left
SSID ON.

The wireless dropped out again last night. I powered the router off and
then on and it worked fine. The desktop was fine this time too.

Last night the wireless dropped out again! This time, I tried shutting
down ZA just for the heck of it and the wireless connected right away!

So I decided to remove ZA 6.1.737 and installed the last version 6.0.667
and all seems to be fine - so far!!! (Keeping fingers crossed here)

Sorry for the long story but has anyone heard of wireless disconnects
using ZA and in particular v 6.1.737?

Thanks, Fred S

Hello all,

This is a follow up - the wireless went out again and also, the desk top
would time out at all websites.

I un-powered the router then plugged it back in, and the web returned
and the wireless worked again too.

I'm sure that ZA is not the problem - seems like the router is the problem.
