Actually, by hitting the F8 key you are acknowledging & agreeing to MS terms
which, in turn, makes it a legal and binding document....

Where in the EULA does it say that you cannot change the motherboard?

NO EFFIN' WHERE!

That's where.

Correct and even if one accepts that a legally binding contract has be
entered into, breaking the contract is not illegal and there is no penalty
for breaking the contract.

That is correct understanding on how contract law works.

Unfortunately, the dipsh*ts that think the EULA is the effin' "Holy
Grail" cannot understand it.

"You can upgrade your machine as much as you want if you have a generic OEM"
Generic and Branded share the same EULA when it comes to tranfering to
another PC. Its a breach of the license but it doesn't mean you '"can't" do
it (with generic). Microsoft considers the motherboard to be "PC/machine"

When I use "link to post" (in hotmail) I get this message
"Service Temporarily Unavailable."
then I did a search for the post and got nothing back. so be it...Opera
does not behave very well with this kind of scripting.IE isnt much better,
must be the newsgroup.

'The only XP available in Spain, other than generic OEMs, are retail
upgrades and they go for 370 US dollars (Home), gen OEM 96usd'

In Canada we get OEM (gen, brand) , retail in several forms.
XP pro |OEM $179.97 | full $240 - ($429.00@microsoft)
XP home |OEM $129.97 | full $149- ($259.00@Microsoft)

sounds about right.

By my "extended trialware" comment I meant it to be an abrasive attack on
the limited EULA, not that it expires.

Not in the EULAs I agreed to it doesn't.

Now you're playing word games - you either agree or not, you don't get
an "Opinion". The button that you press is not some wishy-washy thing,
it's either than you agree or you don't, no leeway.

OMG, Leythos, lighten up a bit. It was a joke. Do you not smile once
in a while? :)

I smile all the time, most days, but when it comes to this constant BS,
as much as I hate censoring posts, I'm glad they started yanking the BS
off the site, it's almost enough to make me start pulling the MS groups
from the MS servers.

I actually think it was more of a trolling than a joke, but I played
along.

Only when she is taking peracets. Otherwise Lamegirl is a total
party-pooper!
