Yes or No to Partition ???

Hi ... I am get a new computer within days and i was told
by the sale guy not to partition my 120GB hard drive...
He is trying to tell me that mircosoft recommend not to
partition true or not true ??? Also when i install my
windows xp pro full install for the first time is there a
step by step guide that i can view before i actually do
installment on my computer ??? More or less i want to
view a guide to see whats going or should take places
before i actually do the installment

XP runs 'fine' on a FAT32 drive as well. And whether other partitions on
the drive will cause any noticeable distress is debateable.

It's a big drive, it would be nice to keep an easily fragmented "download"
or "games" drive, separate from your system drive.

I'd split that puppy in three.
