How do I get RID OF the yellow reminder icon that's near the clock (that
constantly sends me annoying reminders to update Windows and install those
programs). Like I wrote it is annoying. Also I don't like installing a
program with a perfunctory, at best, explanation for what the update does.

Thank you,

Barry Karas

PS I have WinXP Pro with SP2.

Hi

Control Panel>Security Center - in the left hand pane click on 'Change the
way Security Center alerts me'.

This is the second time in as many days that you've asked this.

This time I hope you've got the sense to follow the instructions
provided you.

would you provide a link to the rule that states the number of times a post may be made.

The OP has posed this same exact issue just 2 days ago. He received the correct answer then as he did now.

He should stay with his original post and not start a new one of the same.
Mikey it is just common sense to do this. Also may I ask why in the heavens are you posting here with HTML. Try and post like everyone else in plain text. Many will not open your post because of it.

In newsgroups, just as in other walks of life, there are many things that we
do or don't do, not because we are following *rules*, but because
established conventions and common courtesy dictate that that's the way they
are done.

Uncle Grumpy certainly didn't make his point politely, but he made it
correctly.

not really, there are sometimes situations where reviewing what has been posted is not available.
I see no reason why a person cannot post again if they can find no answers.
especially in the circumstances where there are language differences.

like I said where is the RULE on number of times or frequency that a post can be made.

I'll provide a link to the rule that says if you don't like what I
have to say, you can kiss my ass... would that work?

that always works both ways.

maybe you should go out and hire a prostitute and get laid, might not be so grumpy.

But you were dumb enough to ask.
