recently i heard, that free yahoo uswers can configure their account via
outlook. many users seems to have achieved it, while i tried with the
instructions, it seems to give some errors!

Following are the instructions:

1.. Select Tools -> Email accounts from the main menu
2.. Select Add a new email account and click o­n Next
3.. Select POP3 as the Server Type. Click Next
4.. Enter your username and full Yahoo! email address under 'User
Information'
5.. Enter your Yahoo! Login id and password under 'Logon Information'
6.. Enter 'localhost' as your Incoming mail server
7.. Enter localhost as the SMTP server as your outgoing mail server
8.. Click o­n the More Settings button and select the Advanced tab
9.. Increase the Server Timeout to 'Long' (10 minutes)
10.. Select the Outgoing Server tab
11.. Enable "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication". Select
"Log o­n using" and enter your Yahoo Mail address as the username and your
Yahoo Mail password as the password.
12.. Click Ok to close the More Settings dialog
13.. Click Next and then Finish

But after doing all this i am getting errors like 0x80042108. Any help?

ya i have installed YPOPS, but still it aint working, i get 0x80042108
errror saying it cant connect to server. the port for POP and SMTP is 110
and 25 respectively. teall me where am i wrong? neither do i see a ny folder
list of yahoo?

How does it need to be done?

How does it need to be done?

I don't use YPOPS, so I don't know, but there appear to be discussion forums
for it at
http://yahoopops.sourceforge.net/modules.php?op=modload&name=PNphpBB2&file=index
so maybe that would be a better place for your question.

I simply don't have the time or the inclination to experiment with YPOPS.
As I said before, use the YPOPS forum. You can post there exactly what
you've done to install it and those who actually use it can critique your
methods.
