When I boot my PC, yahoo messenger automaticaly comes up. I want the
darned thing to only come up when I want it to. How do I do this ? I
couldn't find an option or figure it out. If it won't let me, I may
decide to unisntall it.

There is a solution... You can try the following... (for Windows XP)

Go to "Start" Menu
Select "Run"
On the "Open:" Box type "msconfig" (msconfig without the "" marks ok?)
Next the "System Configuration Utility" will open
Select the "Startup" tab
On the "Startup" tab deselect the yahoo application; it probably looks like
YahooMessenger or simply check the command tab which will tell you where the
program runs from (for reference i.e.
C:\ProgramFiles\Yahoo\Messenger\YahooMessenger.exe quiet") to deselect it.
*Note: That will disable that program to run when windows starts. Also works
for other programs as well....

I hope this help you with your problem and feel free to post any other
concerns...

Good luck!
