Yahoo messenger hanging up

Help! My yahoo messenger service will slow down my
computer.When I try to open yahoo messengwer it willnot
open.I have to open the task manager and kill ypager.then
I can restart yahoo and everything will work fine.Why is
it hanging up at times .It is using 98% of system
resourses when it hangs up.
