In Yahoo Messenger, if you had set your settings to archive your messages,
they are located in the sub folder (gotta dig deep):

C:\program-files\ Yahoo!\ Messenger\ Profiles\ <your Yahoo ID named folder>
\ Archive\ Messages\ <all of your friends named folders> (saved messages in
different folders. with your different friends as the folders names)

If, when you deleted the archives, Yahoo deleted the folders with your friends
names on them also, then they might be in your recycle bin (trash can). But I
don't know...

The title of this newsgroup is misleading to some.

Since there is an MSN Messenger newsgroup "microsoft.public.msn.messenger",
and this newsgroup does not say "Windows Messenger" in the title, and most
importantly, Yahoo Messenger is a Windows XP based Messenger program, as far
as I am concerned, an easy mistake to make, especially for newer computer
users or newer Usenet users.
