Yahoo mail to WIndows mail conversion

I would like to make windows mail my default e-mail account but have been
unable to get there just by using the "help" tab. I currently have yahoo
email which stays on the yahoo server but would like to have those emails
forwarded to the windows mail. I have a broadband connection and have been
unable to locate the info that the "help" buttom ask for. What exactly am I
doing wrong?

Start button > Default Programs > Set your default programs > Windows Mail >
Set this program as default > OK

Is that a free Yahoo account? If so, US-based free Yahoo accounts
have webmail access only, no POP access. Windows Mail handles
POP mail but not Yahoo webmail. So there is no easy way to download
your Yahoo mail to your Windows Mail program. You would have to
forward each message individually.

Yahoo accounts that are premium (paid) or have been set up through
an ISP partnership (Verizon, AT&T, etc.) do have POP access.
