Yahoo, Google, MSN search problems

I am running Internet Explorer v.6 on Windows 2000. Up
until a few weeks ago, I had no problems with my browser.
Recently, I have discovered that while I can load the site
Yahoo.com and click on any links, I cannot use
the "search" function. When I try to search it gives me
the "The Page Cannot Be Found" error page. It is the same
with MSN.com, I can log onto the page, but I cannot search.

However, I cannot even go to the site Google.com, or
AltaVista. It states the page doesn't exist.

I am afraid that I may have accidentally deleted a needed
file when cleaning out my Internet temporary files. If
anyone can help me with this issue, I would greatly
appreciate it!

Looks like the Qhosts trojan. Read about it here:

Install the latest updates from Microsoft to stop this happening again.

I had the same problem, and I went to the website and ran
the clean-up tool and it worked. Hopefully it will for you
too. :)
