Windows XP Yahoo Chat not connecting

Hello, I have a problem with Yahoo chat, Eveytime I open a chat in the new yahoo messenger (7.0 (7,0,0,437)) the tab "connect" becomes availble and when I click it nothing happens adn I close it out and when i re-try to open it nothing comes up, i also have reinstalled yahoo over 10 times and i aslo tryed an older version. I also cant get into chats on the yahoo website (chat.yahoo.com) or any chat clients. I am running on Windows XP and I belive i have service pack 2
