Hi

My PC will not shutdown completly when I ask it to shut down it goes through
the usual screen saving settings ect but when all wiindows have closed I am
left with just a background screen aand the cursor which I can still move. I
have tried ctrl-alt-del and this has no effect, the only way is to hold the
power button for 5 secs then start the pc again.
Can anyone offer assistance have you come across the same problem, I tried
google groups but no luck
Please help

Hi Bryan,

First, go to the Control Panel/Power Options and see if you need to enable
APM. If not, see if the troubleshooters from MVP Jim Eshelman help:
