I am trying to build a compendium of the cause and repair of system freeze-
ups/lock-ups for an article I'm writing for my club.

These crashes will happen at any time, i.e. mouse pointer and keyboard
freeze; on-line or off, computer idle---at welcome screen or in use.

Running Pentium 4, 2 gHz with 512 meg ram. nVidia chipset in video adapter.
Gateway computer worked ok until recently.

I think some causes for this to happen are; video adapter/driver, memory,
air circulation, virus' and software issues, etc.---IE7 recently installed.

Appreciate any heads-up. Thanks, chane

There are about 100 reasons for lockups. Good luck.
