I have an hpPavillion Media Center PC m8100n. It came with Vista. The hard
drive crashed and I purchased a new one. I installed XpPro and now I cannot
connect to the internet. Can anyone help me find drivers for this thing?
I am not very computer smart, but I can manage some basic things if pointed
in the right direction. I really appreciate any help or advice!

Usually a pc or motherboard comes with a cd,the cd has networking, chipset
installation, usb drivers,& other good stuff you need,go to intel or amd web
site, depending on which hardware hp used,& get the drivers/software...

Try the support pages on the HP website at www.hp.com.

Unfortunately, the page at
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/...dlc=en&cc=us&os=2093&product=3440614&lang=en&
states that HP can only offer drivers for Vista and Vista
(64-bit) operating systems. Consequently, you might need to
identify the actual hardware - and try manufacturers' websites.
If so, it might be easier to reinstall the Vista system supplied
with your computer - and download the correct Vista drivers from
HP.

According to this page:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=3440614&

XP drivers do not exist for that particular model. Also, see this page:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01274160&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=3440614

If you still want to try to force that square peg into that round hole,
look here:

If you have a difficult time reading the muddled replies from "Andrew
E." maybe it's a good thing.

Most folks "in the know" here say his advice is highly questionable.

BAD even
