XPE keeps rebooting

hello all,

my new XPE keeps rebooting instead of installing.
The FBA log file shows invalid path for everything after
fbafixwindowspathsinregistry action which changes the
windir from e:\windows to d:\windows.
I have the primary drive c:\ with 2 partitions : C:\ and
D:\, and secondary drive as e:\. I was trying to boot XPE
to e:\ drive.
Help!!!

Your problem is that for XPe, your E drive isn't E.

Drive letters used to be assigned in the following order in DOS days,
and AFAIK that never changed:

1) Primary partition on disk 0
2) Primary partition on disk 1
3) Logical partitions in an extended partition on disk 0
4) Logical partitions in an extended partition on disk 1

If your D: is a logical partition, it would become E: for XPe and your
E: would become D:.

I'm not sure, but I think if there's more than one primary partition
on disk 0, they would all (up to 4 of them) get letters before disk 1.
