Idid a Quick restore and lost all of my microsfot
programs and many of my XP files. Has this happened to
any one else and what did you do aboutit

Have you tried undo?

if you restored an old registry, all your programs are there they just
are not connected in the registry.

you have to reinstall.

if you did some other restore of programs the same issue would exist
if the reg is changed.

you have to reinstall the programs to get them reconnected.

I turned system restore off to save disk space and just backup with the
image files I create every month or so.
