XP won't recognize network card

Hi, we are a small non-profit trying to connect a donated
computer with XP to our peer to peer network (mostly
WIndows 98 and 2000 computers). The problem is that XP
isn't recognizing the network card in the machine. I've
put another card in but that isn't working either. I've
tried installing the SP1a and the Advanced P2P program.
When I attempt to install the computer on the network it
says it doesn't recognize my network hardware. We got 12
of these computers donated. If I can't get them to work
they are useless to us. Please help.

THANK YOU!! I actually found the Database Article
stating that exactly just a bit ago and tried a brand new
NIC from home. Worked like a charm! What a relief!
