XP won't complete setup

I could not install from the xp cd, with SP1. It gave me
a blue screen with a fatal error. So I downloaded the xp
setup floppy disks for xp with SP1 and tried that. After
installing the floppys, during installation of the cd the
computer would not copy the following files: clpack.exe,
javacypt.dll, javaperm.hlp, javaprxy.dll, javart.dll,
javascc.hlp, jdbgmgr.exe, jview.exe, msawt,dll,
msjava.dll, msjdbc10.dll, nt5java.inf, vmhelper.dll,
wjview.exe, dx3j.dll, and jit.dll. Then when the cd is
about 90% doneI get this message: Shutdown, c000021a,
Fatal system error. session manager initialization process
terminated unexpectantly with a status of oxc000026c
(x00000000), (x00000000). I tried to reboot several times
but the same error occurs. Since the part of this install
that did finish wiped out my window98se, I have no
operating system. I would prefer to get the XP going
rather than re-installing the 98se. HELP?

I experienced this often...

possible remedies
1. Memory chips speed mismatch or going bad -- GoodMem
can check them

2. Overclocking setup error.

3. Bios Setting incorrect

4. Standard Windows IDE Contoller Drivers replace for
Mfgr unique drivers -- use the Windows standard
