I am the only user on my new Dell XP home computer. Since setup I booted the
machine and went directly to my desktop. Yesterday I had problems with my new
printer and HP took me through many steps to fix it. Now the printer works
great but when I turn on the machine it goes to a screen that wants me to
click on my name before it loads the desktop. This is very confusing for my
elderly husband. Does anyone know how I can get it back to laoding my desktop
at startup?

thanks - Rose

Go to Start -> Run.
Copy and paste the following into the Open box:

control userpasswords2

Click OK.
Uncheck "Users must enter a user name and password to use this
computer".
In the box that pops up, replace Administrator in the "User
Name" box with your user account. Enter your password twice.
Note: You can leave the password box blank if your account does
not have a password.
Click OK twice and reboot to see if you get the desired
results.
