XP userinit.exe Issue

J

Jesse

I downloaded an MS-DOS based diagnostic tool for my
Turtle Beach Montego II sound card. I put it on a floppy
(as directed) and rebooted my comp with the floppy in the
A: drive. The tool confirmed that my card was working
properly, so I removed the floppy and rebooted the
computer to XP. When I tried to log on, I got an error
message. "No disk in the drive. Please insert a disk
into drive A:", with three options: Cancel, Try Again, or
Continue. I can't run a program without getting a
similar message without the floppy disk in. When I log
on, it is "userinit.exe", but sometimes it is others,
such as "aim.exe", etc. Please help.
