My computer locked and I had to do a system restore basically back to the
state it was in when I bought it. My daughter's user account was gone; I
set it up again with the same name, but it does not link to the existing
files from the former account. How do I link her new account to the old
folder?

You probably shouldn't.

Copy the My Documents contents and Favorites and possibly the desktop from
her old account in \Documents and Settings\ to the new location - making
sure her new user has full rights on those folders/files.

Ok, thanks guys. I was expecting something more complicated, I can
definitely handle copy and paste.

You can point here old path C:\Documents and Settings\[OLD USERNAME] to her
new path by modifying the registry key for her profilelist.
